The Aul Shebeen for good food and good craic

(May 27, 2011)

There were many things on our latest trip to Spain worth mentioning but there is one that stands out above the rest.

Debbie, Wendy and I were on a mission in Benalmadena to find a good hearty sunday lunch. A previously visited restaurant had relocated to the other side of town and we were in need there and then so we decided to try the closest restaurant to it.

The Aul Shebeen turned out to be an incredible choice of venue, our hosts, Ternie and Fiona made us very welcome  and introduced us to Jamie, their 21 year old sons food. what a delight it was, cooked to perfection and presented with style at a very reasonable price.

I would recomend to ayone visiting Benalmadena to try The Aul Shebeen as it is tucked away above the busy sea front were the atmosphere is so relaxed it is difficult to leave.

Opened only a few weeks before our visit, Ternie, Fiona and Jamie have created a wonderful resteraunt where friendly smiles, good conversation, relaxed atmosphere  and magificent food and drink are on the menu.

To get to The Aul Shebeen follow the seafront away from the harbour, you will come to a group of retaurants, bars and cafes, above these on a quiet terrace you will find Aul Shebeen between Smiley's and The "famous" drunken sailor. The Aul Shebeen for good food and good craic, Las Gaviotas Auda, Anthonio Machado, Benalmadena

We thank Ternie, Fiona and Jamie for a memorable food fest and wish them all the very best for their venture.

 Ian, Debbie and Wendy
